she is 23 years old, she is a big star, she writes on spiritual commission, she used to collect pink permission slips and drugstore lipsticks.
in all seriousness, erin shields is an mfa candidate in poetry at West Virginia University. she lives in Morgantown, WV, with her fiancé — whom she refers to as her boyfriend because it's flirtier to say — where she writes poems that mix a vocal fried stream of consciousness with material mystic frou frou. her poetry lives in tough poets review, the hemlock journal, fish girl collective, and elsewhere. recently, she has been dressing up as a fashion columnist to take the edge off.
